I actually read that the day the news came out. I, too, felt some loss. I'm a big fan of Carl Sagan, and I think he is probably rolling over in his grave thinking about such a huge step backwards in scientific research. The Hubble Telescope is a wonderful tool that has advanced our knowledge of the universe by leaps and bounds. It will be sad to see the gub'ment throw it into the sea.
